My Gear

My very first camera was a Canon PowerShot G3. That was a long time ago, and my collection of gear has grown and changed a lot since then. Here's what I'm currently shooting with:

1. Canon EOS 550D with Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro - my older DSLR camera that I keep as a backup

2. Canon EOS 7D Mark II with Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM - my primary body that I bring with me for some dedicated shooting time

3. Sony RX100 Mark IV - my everyday carry camera to catch those shots I stumble upon in my day to day

4. Samsung Galaxy S7 - my Instagram machine, and emergency camera

5. Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART - my go to lens for portraits

6. Cheap Chinese loupe - because seeing anything on a Canon LCD in direct sunlight ain't gonna happen

7. Gorillapod - for when I'm doing long exposure with the Sony

8. Smartphone minitripod - for when I'm doing long exposures with the Samsung

9. Manfrotto BeFree Tripod - light and easy to travel with

10. Samyang 8mm T3.8 Asph IF MC Fisheye - for when ultrawide isn't enough

11. Canon 430 EX II speedlite - for those few times when I find natural light to be inadequate

12. Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM - my workhorse, probably the lens I use the most

13. Tamrom 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD - for long landscapes or when I dabble in shooting animals, and because I can't afford the Canon glass

14. Flo-Mow Timelapse Mount - for creating moving timelapse vids

15. LEE Filters Big Stopper - for those loooooooong exposures

16. LG Power Bank 10400 mAh - because I need power for my gadgets, and there are no outlets in the woods

17. GoPro Hero Session - for videos of my ACTION PACKED lifestyle (riiiiight), and those close to or below water shots

18. Yongnuo flash triggers - to do what the tin says, only use the two of them after my YN flash died though (RIP you cheap POS)

19. Cheap sunglasses off eBay - because I always lose or break them

20. Notebook for field notes - with "The Pen Project" pen from Ian Schon off of Kickstarter

I'm also playing around with a DJI Phantom 3 from time to time.

To carry this stuff around I either go with my Crumpler Muli 9000, or my LowePro Slingshot 202AW.
